Cabildo in Viacha

Sharing the experiences of Canadian First Nations  at the Cabildo in Viacha

Two First Nations representatives from Canada met with Bolivian indigenous leaders at the cabildo in Viacha. The cabildo is a meeting, in which indigenous leaders discuss topics concerning the community. Outsiders are not allowed in, but on May 13th 2012 Dr. Yellowhorn and researcher Sally Hope were invited to talk about Canadian First Nations. This wonderful experience fostered an exchange of knowledge and ideas, in which Sally Hope and Dr. Yellowhorn talked to indigenous leaders about First Nations’ history, culture and traditions.

Few hours after the cabildo, some leaders met with Dr. Yellowhorn and Mrs. Hope  in a round table, and had a conversation about Canadian First Nations and Bolivian indigenous people.
